Katie Hastings has studied classical piano for over 9 years. Her teachers include, Chris Rogers and Dr. Irene Bowling. Other musical education includes
participating in a number of workshops, university festivals and
state level adjudications.
Her performance
experiences have included numerous recitals, nursing home ministries,
church services and various competitions. Throughout the years, Katie
has been involved in Music Olympics in which she has received
numerous awards including 2nd place in the upper intermediate level (2009), 3rd place in the lower advanced level (2010), and 1st place in the advanced level
(2012). She has also participated in the Young
Church Musicians' Recital Competition in which she was awarded 3rd place (2012) and 2nd place (2013) in the advanced division.
Katie began teaching piano in Fall 2013. She is a member of the
National Music Teachers' Association, Washington State Music Teachers' Association, and Gig Harbor Music Teachers' Association,
which offers a variety of performance opportunities for students,
including recitals, adjudications, competitions, and more.
